Cancer Registry Monitors Follow-up
Southeast Hospital’s Cancer Registry is a department that collects data on each patient that is diagnosed and/or treated for cancer at our facility.
The original Registry began in 1974. With Missouri making cancer a reportable disease, the invention of Tumor Registry software, and the creation of the Missouri Cancer Registry, our reference date was changed to January 1, 1984.
The Registry now has over 16, 700 cases in our Registry and follows over 4,000 cases annually. This provides lifetime patient follow-up to monitor the success of primary and secondary treatments.
The Registry continues to exceed a follow-up rate of greater than 90%.
